East London nightclub attack leaves a dozen injured with chemical burns

    Two remain in critical condition.

Six hundred partygoers were evacuated from Mangle E8 early this morning (April 17) after a man sprayed acid on the crowd. Twelve have been reported injured.

According to the BBC, “officers believe a man threw acid at two men after a dispute between two groups inside the venue,” but the Metropolitan police says there is no evidence it was related to gang activity. The attack leaves two in critical, but stable, condition at the hospital. Ten others were treated for minor injuries.

“It happened so fast – they rushed people out. I thought it was a stabbing because all I heard was ‘move, move, move – move out of the area’,” a woman who lives in a housing block overlooking the club told the BBC. “The security were telling the crowd to go down that way – people on this side were waiting to go home but they couldn’t go home because the road was closed. People were confused.”

No arrests have been made at this time.

Would you frequent an IC chat room if one were created?

KiK is a mobIle only app, and you have to create an account.

as y'all are aware, we have been getting ready to move to a new platform. it's currently in beta form, and we're still working the bugs out, but u are all invited to check it out at:

in this platform, IC posters will truly be the Community of AllHipHop. the IC won't just be a different part of the main website, IC posters will be an integral part of the entire community. we'll be able to make threads off of articles, take articles from other sites and post em on ours, post gifs at will, have access to Twitter, FB, Snap, Youtube, and others, AND we have a dedicated team to customize for future projects.

with that said, there's been some technical issues here on the Vanilla platform that we're currently on. once the move is complete, posters will STILL be able to access this site, but it will be read-only (like the Forum of Fame currently is). as we make the transition though, there have been some issues on Vanilla. we apologize for the inconvenience, we've been tryna make this as smooth as possible.

'I'd have cut them up like a piece of pork': Chinese chef pictured drenched in blood after attacking wife and her lover with a meat cleaver

A maniac Chinese chef, who attacked his wife and her lover with a meat cleaver after he discovered them in bed together told relatives he wanted to 'cut them up like a piece of pork'. Cook Sun Li turned his home in Foshan, Guangdong province, into a bloodbath when he discovered his wife cheating on him after coming in from work.

Crazed Sun hacked at the cheating pair with the heavyweight metal cooking utensil as they fled through the house and out into the street. The pair both suffered injuries but survived. A police spokesman said: 'There were spurts of blood, and footprints and handprints everywhere. It was like a slaughterhouse inside.

'It was amazing that they could lose so much blood and survive,' said one police officer. Sun was later arrested drenched in blood after relatives persuaded him to give up the chopper. But the unrepentant cook told them: 'I work all the hours I can to give her a home and this is what she does in it. 'If I'd caught them I'd have cut them up like a piece of pork.'

  • 07/22/14--16:11: The General Business Thread
  • Alright yall this is a spinoff from the Tax Implications thread that was started by @JonnyRoccIT‌ . I made this thread to help out anybody who has general questions about getting started or going forward, legal matters in business, financing/banks/credit, how to find information, building websites, structure, taxation, business plans/proposals, investing, motivation - anything that has to do with running a business please ask the question here and me or @pralims will answer you promptly.

Anything that has to do with even supplying apps or anything for that matter that can help someone, anybody, somewhere do something easier or better will be greatly appreciated.

To kick things off I have put the topics in spoilers to make the O/P organized and easier to browse for mobile users.

    Business Entity/Legal Structures

    Sole Proprietorship

The simplest structure is the sole proprietorship, which usually involves just one individual who owns and operates the enterprise. If you intend to work alone, this structure may be the way to go. The tax aspects of a sole proprietorship are appealing because the expenses and your income from the business are included on your personal income tax return, Form 1040. Your profits and losses are recorded on a form called Schedule C, which is filed with your 1040. The "bottom-line amount" from Schedule C is then transferred to your personal tax return. This is especially attractive because business losses you suffer may offset the income you have earned from your other sources.

As a sole proprietor, you must also file a Schedule SE with Form 1040. You use Schedule SE to calculate how much self-employment tax you owe. In addition to paying annual self-employment taxes, you must make estimated tax payments if you expect to owe at least $1,000 in federal taxes for the year after deducting your withholding and credits, and your withholding will be less than the smaller of:

    1) 90 percent of the tax to be shown on your current year tax return or

    2) 100 percent of your previous year's tax liability.

The federal government permits you to pay estimated taxes in four equal amounts throughout the year on the 15th of April, June, September and January. With a sole proprietorship, your business earnings are taxed only once, unlike other business structures. Another big plus is that you will have complete control over your business--you make all the decisions. There are a few disadvantages to consider, however. Selecting the sole proprietorship business structure means you are personally responsible for your company's liabilities. As a result, you are placing your assets at risk, and they could be seized to satisfy a business debt or a legal claim filed against you.Raising money for a sole proprietorship can also be difficult. Banks and other financing sources may be reluctant to make business loans to sole proprietorships. In most cases, you will have to depend on your financing sources, such as savings,
    home equity or family loans.

If your business will be owned and operated by several individuals, you'll want to take a look at structuring your business as a partnership. Partnerships come in two varieties: general partnerships and limited partnerships. In a general partnership, the partners manage the company and assume responsibility for the partnership's debts and other obligations. A limited partnership has both general and limited partners. The general partners own and operate the business and assume liability for the partnership, while the limited partners serve as investors only; they have no control over the company and are not subject to the same liabilities as the general partners.

Unless you expect to have many passive investors, limited partnerships are generally not the best choice for a new business because of all the required filings and administrative complexities. If you have two or more partners who want to be actively involved, a general partnership would be much easier to form.

One of the major advantages of a partnership is the tax treatment it enjoys. A partnership does not pay tax on its income but "passes through" any profits or losses to the individual partners. At tax time, the partnership must file a tax return (Form 1065) that reports its income and loss to the IRS. In addition, each partner reports his or her share of income and loss on Schedule K-1 of Form 1065.

Personal liability is a major concern if you use a general partnership to structure your business. Like sole proprietors, general partners are personally liable for the partnership's obligations and debts. Each general partner can act on behalf of the partnership, take out loans and make decisions that will affect and be binding on all the partners (if the partnership agreement permits). Keep in mind that partnerships are also more expensive to establish than sole proprietorships because they require more legal and accounting services.

The other portion is in the next post

As for what state is best to incorporate in, it really depends on what type of business you're trying to build. Please PM me and I may be able to assist you.

"At least five people are dead following a shooting at multiple locations in Tehama County including a local elementary school, where at least two children were wounded.

Authorities described a chaotic scene in which a gunman appear to pick target randomly in the rural Northern California county. They said the incident appears to have begun as “domestic violence incident” but did not provide further details.

The gunman was fatally shot by law enforcement deputies. His name has not been released. The Tehama County Sheriff’s Department said they were dealing with at least five separate crime scenes and were try try to assess the number of casualties.

Authorities said the shooting occurred around 8 a.m. in Rancho Tehama, near Red Bluff, about 120 miles northwest of Sacramento.

Tehama County Assistant Sheriff Phil Johnston did not have a total number of victims, but said that “a number” of students had been medically evacuated from the scene.

“We have about 100 law enforcement personnel in Rancho Tehama right now, with multiple, multiple scenes,” Johnston said.

“I know that we have [airlifted] a number of students,” he told reporters. “I know that we have children that were attending school in a safe location at this time.”

Officials said the Rancho Tehama area remains on lockdown.

Nearby residents and business owners said they heard at least 100 gunshots.

“I thought this only happens to places like L.A. or New York,” said Jose Garcia, owner of La Fortune Convenience, told the Los Angeles Times.

Coy Ferreira, a parent at the school, told KRCR-TV that he heard a series of gunshots through a classroom window and saw one young boy shot in the foot and chest and a second student shot in the arm. Both were alert and conscious, he said.

The owner of a nearby cafe, Coffee Addiction, told The Times that she called 911 after hearing gunfire and screaming at the elementary school.

The woman, who identified herself only as Tiffany, said she heard about 100 rounds fired from what sounded like multiple guns.

The business owner said she and her husband and their four children moved to the area from Redding about seven years ago. She said that they have always felt safe.

“It’s a great community,” she said. “I am hoping it doesn’t get some kind of bad rap because of one person in one area.”

Rancho Tehama has a population of roughly 3,500 people, she said.

“We have had an active shooter incident at Rancho Tehama Elementary this morning,” read a statement from the Corning Union Elementary School District website. “There are confirmed injuries. We are cooperating with law enforcement during this investigation but do not have specific details at this time.”

A Dallas ISD student got a middle school teacher to pay him nearly $28,000 by threatening to expose their sexual relationship to police, court records say.

Thao "Sandy" Doan, a 27-year-old teacher at Raul Quintanilla Sr. Middle School, was arrested last week and faces a sexual assault charge because of the alleged relationship. The boy is a former Quintanilla Middle School student, Dallas ISD police wrote in Doan's arrest warrant affidavit.

Earlier this month, the boy's mom reported that he was getting from Doan "large amounts of money" he was using for "illegal purposes" and causing problems at home, the affidavit states.

The mom told the school's administration that she wanted the payments to stop. She also handed over screen shots of messages that indicated her son had asked for the money and Doan had said she didn't have any, police said.

"Anit [expletive] watch ima start getting the pics and everything ready ... to show the cops right I anit playing," the messages read, according to police.

Doan is listed on the school district's website as a cross country and soccer coach.

She told police she communicated with the boy over Instagram, text and the messaging app Kik before they had sex at a park in the summer of 2015. She said they also had sex between November and December of that year, her affidavit states.

In January 2016, she said, someone she didn't know contacted her and threatened to tell police about the relationship if she didn't give him money. She said she continued to get calls from different numbers about different drop-off places for the payments.

Doan had sex again with the student in December 2016, her affidavit states.
Doan was arrested on Friday and released from jail after posting bail.

The boy's mother told KDFW-TV (Channel 4) this week that he has been in and out of the juvenile system on burglary and robbery charges. The mother told the station she knows her son was wrong but she believes Doan should have known better as the adult in the scenario.

'She did very bad. She did bad," the mother said, "and I'm not condoning what he did because I know he was wrong at what he also did because blackmailing is not acceptable."

Dallas ISD officials did not immediately respond to The Dallas Morning News' request seeking comment on Doan's arrest.

Was watching Mindhunter on Netflix (great show btw, check it out.) and it got me thinking how crazy it would be to live somewhere where there was a serial killer terrorizing the city.

Im sure for the folks that live in big cities this would be a definite possibility for you, but for those of us in smaller cities it definitely leaves a weird feeling in the air. After thinking harder on it, i realized Anchorage has had 2 serial killers and one of them was just recently.

Our first one was Robert Hansen, or as he was known in Anchorage "Butcher Baker". This guy was doing his crime in the 70s if im not mistaken. I wasnt around for it but My grandmother and mom were and they would mention how freaked out everyone would be and when folks found out that there was a serial killer around you could tell everybody was on edge.

Butcher Baker did his murders for almost 10 years and like most killers was a really charismatic guy. He owned a bakery here in Anchorage that was a city favorite and was frequented by police all the time. He used that to his advantage and befriended a bunch of the police and was able to get details about what they were doing and he was always able to stay a step ahead of them because of this.

What Baker would do is drive around the streets and pick up young hookers. Some of them teens. He would get them in his van and convince them to come with him, usually by threatening to shoot them. He would then drive to the airport where he had a little Bush plane that he owned and he would fly the girls out to Rural areas North or South of Anchorage. He would land his plane and tell the girls that they were free to leave but they were in the middle of nowhere. The girls would leave and he would give them a headstart, then he would Hunt them like they were wild game.

Amazingly one 17 year old girl was able to escape from him and contacted the police who then got the FBI involved and he was eventually caught. He confessed to 17 murders, but they believe he was involved in as many as 30+.

Will post our most recent one in another post.

For posters: Has your city ever lived through a Serial Killer? What was your city/people like while it was happening? How did it all end?
