Ladies, Whats the point of an engagement ring?

I will not lie an say i didnt buy my lady a big ass engagement ring. like most men ...we were conditioned from a youngins to think we needed to buy a ring to begin the process of marriage. And women are conditioned to think the bigger the ring the more he loves you.

I have seen chicks get mad at what their ring looked like or that the diamond was too small or that it wasnt a diamond at all. But if the man wants to marry you why does a ring, its size and type of diamond matter?

Before you ladies say it....tradition seems to only work for yall when its beneficial. it's tradition to buy a ring...but like from another thread....tradition can be broken or challenged when it comes to taking last names.

so if a guy wants to marry you an proposes over pizza and pineapple soda without getting on his knee...is it still ok to except the proposal without a ring or will you bitch about when will the ring come? how will you handle people congratulating you but then asking where the ring is an you dont have one, they wont think its serious. and dont act like their opinion doesnt matter....we can skip that part.

so does the engagement ring really matter?
