A 66-year-old Hong Kong resident who had lived his entire life as a man got quite the shock recently when he went to the doctor. Turns out he's actually a she!
Doctors realized the patient was a women when they discovered the abdomen swelling he was complaining of was caused by an ovarian cyst.
The patient was then discovered to have two medical conditions that led to her mistaken sexual identity.
The first is Turners syndrome, which causes infertility, and the second is congenital adrenal hyperplasia, which increases male hormones and made the patient, who had a beard and a "micropenis", look like a man.
The doctors who treated this unique patient released a statement: "Were it not due to the huge ovarian cyst, his intriguing medical condition might never have been exposed."
As for the patient, he claims he'll continue to live as a man.
