A lot of rappers act like they are about that life.. Talkin the talk but not walkin the walk. Much respect to Mos Def.

At Guantanamo Bay right now, more than 40 hunger strikers who are protesting their unlawful imprisonment and treatment by the U.S. government are being forced fed against their will. Yasiin Bey (formally known as Mos Def) volunteered to allow himself to be forced fed under the same procedure that Guantanamo Bay hunger strikers are fed under. What you observe is that a tube is stuck far up Bey’s nose and early on, it is obvious that the artist is in a great deal of pain.
In a New York Times op-ed about a hunger striking at Guantanamo Bay, a detainee described what it’s like to be force fed:
I will never forget the first time they passed the feeding tube up my nose. I can’t describe how painful it is to be force-fed this way. As it was thrust in, it made me feel like throwing up. I wanted to vomit, but I couldn’t. There was agony in my chest, throat and stomach. I had never experienced such pain before. I would not wish this cruel punishment upon anyone."
Most disturbing of all is that these detainees have never been given a trial, so there is no method for determining which are guilty of a crime and which are, like the Al Jazeera reporter who was detained, just people who are being unjustly punished by the U.S. government.
