That is to say, when said man is currently in a relationship with a woman. I find this whole "rule" that says that you can't look at other women very odd, and after arguing about it for a while, I'm curious to see what other people think, especially women.
I get the impression that it's forbidden, especially in marriage, for a man to look at other women and if he does, then he's legitimately supposed to be in the wrong? As a man especially, I just find this silly. And I'm not talking about cheating or even staring. Just simply looking. If I see an attractive woman pass by, chances are that I will simply look and admire her "beauty." And there is no woman in the world that will keep me from doing so. Just imagining myself intentionally straining to avert my eyes to not look seems petty. This is partly why I'm not marriage material, but if my wife were to look at other men, I would have little to no problem with it.
So is it legitimately disrespectful? Or is it a case of insecurity, jealousy, and/or possessiveness?
