CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -
The owner of a Northwest Side store was beaten with a baseball bat Tuesday morning by a potential customer upset the store did not have tank tops in his size.
The man walked into the store in the 5500 block of West Belmont Avenue about 11 a.m. and asked the owner for 3XL tank tops, police said.
When the owner said he did not have any in that size, the customer pulled out a baseball bat and beat the owner with it, police said.
The attacker fled and is not in custody, police said. The owner was taken to Our Lady of the Resurrection Medical Center, where he was treated and released.
The attacker is described as a 23- to 30-year-old black man with a dark complexion, police said. He is 5-foot-8 to 6-feet tall and weights 200 to 250 pounds. He was wearing a white tank top with red bandana.
