1. As a way to let fathers defend their young against being killed by other males.

2. Because females had spread out geographically, and so males had to stick close by to fend off the competition
I basically think these scientists might need to rethink this but in any event, this shits in the face of people who think that we were engineered to be with only one person.
Basically their conclusions revolve around family structures so if you don't want to build a family, fuck as many people as you want ?
