Measure B is a Los Angeles law that requires porn actors to wear condoms during filming. Since the passing of the law, permits to shoot pornography have dropped by 95% in LA.According to the News Daily, by November of last year 480 film permits were filed in LA – this year, only 24 permits have been filed.Being that each permit costs $,1000, the lack of filings has cost the county around $450,000 in lost revenue.Although Measure B was implemented by theOccupational Safety and Health (OSHA) to keep porn actors safe, it clearest short-coming is that it doesn’t require actors to get tested.Instead, forcing actors to wear condoms has crippled the industry within LA’s city limits. Nobody wants to watch porn with condoms, it reminds you of all the negative things that come with sex – all the things your trying not to think of at that moment. The permits are still being filed, as I doubt the powerful porn industry will actually experience much blowback from the law, porn creators are just being forced to relocate to other cities outside LA.
