Pain killers scare me in a way

i think i pulled something in my back while working out. i think its from the decline ab bench and using the kettle balls because the pain is where your back bends when you do sit-ups, not when you go all the way down. but when you stop like 3/4 the way, and you feel that pressure on your back.. thats exactly where the pain is.. but i hope this is just a temporary thing cuz this pain was scary. i couldnt move. i felt like i had a knife stuck in my back.

so im taking these horse pill pain killers but the thought that these dont fix the problem just numb the pain scares me for worse long-term effects.

like if the pain is not numb, you are not going to be moving like nothings wrong... cant that make the problem worse?

for example, walking freely on a broken ankle because you are drunk so the pain is non-existent. but once you sober up, that ankle will be worse cuz you was just walking on it like it wasnt nothing.

anyway.. is there any truth to this and do any of you have back problems from lifting. i need to get back in the gym. i missed 2 days cuz of this now. i cant do it!!
