misconceptions about your hood, or the city or county that you are from

I was born in west Baltimore, penn and bloom to be exact. Most people think that Baltimore City has always been a dirty place full of crack heads, that started happening in the 80's and 90's.. Baltimore was pretty Upper Class until then. Growing up in Baltimore alot of people where BLIND about the situations of the city, they couldn't see it was going down. All the hoods use to be high class, especially Park Heights. A lot of people in the hood are homeowners, that s why they never left and stay in the houses for so many years. A lot of our homeowner communities are hooded. (I'm talking about communities without vacant blocks.)

There are clean decent working class people from Baltimore, not everyone is on welfare or unemployed. A lot of people from the city moved to the county, and the counties are not as safe as they used to be.. Black people in the county do not act white. A lot of people from the county were born in the city. Baltimore isn't proud of the crack era or the dirty reputation. If you come to Baltimore you will find most people are offended by the drug epidemic.

People from the projects live high class. You can't really tell the difference between people from the county and city, because the city tries to keep up with the materialistic image of the county, and the county tries to keep up with the hood reputation of the city..

People from Baltimore travel alot. We don't call it hood to sit on the step and be unemployed and lifeless. We actually do not respect Bumming as HOOD.
