I've been placed in an interesting predicament in which I've never been as a young gent.
My current position of a year and a half has become stale financially, and I've been offered a new job, in a very spiffy part of town, shorter commute, and 50% increase in pay (This will also increase after a short period of time).
I'm pretty sure some of you niggas have found yourselves in similar positions if that salary thread had any ounce of truth to it. And this comes at an interesting time IC wise, considering that "Have you ever been fired" thread. A few questions for my older heads in the room, so this is kind of a spin off that.
How did you break it to your current position? What did you say exactly? You ever try to haggle between deals, and get a larger increase in salary via counter offers? Were you able to maintain a decent reference, and stay on a good rapport with your ex-Boss?
