MSNBC gives tip on how to "shop while Black"

Building off of a recent Daily Show field piece, in which correspondent Jessica Williams delved into the tricky territory of “shopping while black,” MSNBC’s Touré closed out the final pre-Christmas segment of The Cycle with his own tips about avoiding suspicion this holiday season.
Touré told his black viewers that in order to buy a brand-name luxury gifts and “avoid the shop-and-frisk,” they will have to “mollify” and “present yourself as non-threatening.”



Specifically, they should “dress nicely,” “wave to security cameras” and “shake hands with security guards.”



“And if at all possible, bring a white friend,” he said, prompting co-host Krystal Ball to chime in with, “I’ll go shopping with you, Touré.”
