State officials have affirmed a Northern California school district's decision to fire a 37-year-old high school teacher accused of using a school-issued laptop to help set up pornographic websites, including one named 'mysluttyteacher.com.' A three-member panel from the state Office of Administrative Hearings found that numerous files on the Lincoln Unified School District laptop once used by Heidi Kaeslin were pornographic, lewd, vulgar or repugnant, the Record of Stockton reported. It said her conduct was immoral.
The school board on Wednesday adopted the panel's ruling. Kaeslin was a special education teacher at Lincoln High School in Stockton when she was fired last year. She has said her involvement in the websites lasted only a few days. Her involvement was revealed when Kaeslin's estranged husband told school authorities that several domain names were registered to the teacher's home in Stockton, California. It has been claimed that Kaeslin's partner in the seedy business was a retired police officer Richard Fields who was assigned to the school as a resource officer.
He told local newspaper the Stockton Record he had acquired domain names including mysluttyteacher.com to develop them into websites. He claimed the teacher's involvement was limited and the project was eventually abandoned. Fields said the allegations were overblown.
Kaeslin, a former girls soccer coach, has been with the school since 2002. Her attorney declined to comment. Fields retired from the police department in May. The two are romantically linked, according to the paper. The story of Kaeslin's secret business was the hot topic among students at the school earlier in the week. One student at Lincoln High said: 'Ignorant people will do ignorant things.' A male student told a local TV station: 'The website said ''Have you ever seen your teacher's breasts before? Well now you can see them.''
'I just think that's kind of disgusting. I don't know how people didn't find out sooner.' The school board meets next month to decide whether the 35-year-old teacher has violated the ethics code and will be able to keep her job.
