Scary movies come few and far between these days. I mean, plenty are released every few weeks, but I’m talking really scary. Here is a list to keep you up at night until that worthy scary movie finally comes to theaters. If you like posts like this, I would also recommend these scary short films and some scary movies you probably haven’t seen, but should.

A cop stopped a car for speeding — then pointed a gun at a passenger for more than 9 minutes

A video taken during a traffic stop in California is drawing debate over the officer’s decision to keep his gun pointed at the passenger for more than nine minutes.

The stop took place last Wednesday morning along U.S. Route 101, south of San Jose, after an officer noticed a car pass him going 85 mph, according to the Campbell Police Department.

After stopping the car for speeding, the officer requested the driver’s license and additional paperwork. The driver and passenger spent several minutes looking for the paperwork before the officer walked back to his motorcycle to write a citation, police said.

It was at that point their stories diverged. According to police, the passenger began reaching “under his seat.”

“It is not clear why the passenger chose to reach under the seat since the officer was not requesting any other paperwork,” Campbell police said in a statement. “Unfortunately, the passenger’s unexpected movement towards the bottom of the seat, caused the officer to perceive a threat and draw his handgun.”

However, a man sitting in the vehicle’s passenger seat — the target of the officer’s gun — maintained throughout the incident that he had simply been reaching for some papers on the floor to try to find the vehicle’s license and registration, as requested.

A video that apparently was recorded by a woman in the car begins as the male passenger is expressing incredulity that the officer has pulled a gun.

“Wow,” the passenger says in the video, laughing. “We’re looking for the f—ing paperwork, bro. Oh my God.”

“I understand that,” the officer replies. “Don’t move, all right?”

[Father ‘utterly terrified’ after trooper points gun at his 7-year-old during traffic stop]

The passenger sounds indignant as his hands remain on his lap. “Why are you still pointing that gun at me, bro?” he asks the officer. “Why are you still pointing the gun at me, though? Record this sh-t. Why are you still pointing the gun at me, bro? My hands are right here.”

“I understand,” the officer says.

“No, you don’t understand,” the passenger protests, as the officer tells him to relax. “No, I’m not going to relax. Get the f—king gun off me.”

A woman in the car asks the officer: “Is that really necessary? His hands are both out.”

The officer says that it is necessary as he waits for backup to arrive, eliciting another round of protests from the vehicle’s passengers. For several more minutes, they remain at an impasse, with the passenger muttering periodic complaints as music plays in the background. The entire time, the officer’s gun is trained on the man.

Toward the end, the officer relays something through the radio and the passenger begins protesting again. At one point in the video, the officer mentions that there had been a screwdriver on the floor of the car.

“Why are you trying to make this bigger than it is, bro?” the passenger says. “We complied with everything you asked for.”

[A threatened officer had an instant to shoot — or not. Police want you to watch him decide.]

The video lasts a little more than nine minutes total, and the officer’s gun is pointed at the male passenger the entire time. Police said in a statement the officer had to wait longer than usual for backup to arrive “and provide assistance in safely resolving the situation.”

“We understand that it is never a comfortable position to have a gun pointed at you, regardless of whether it is a police officer,” police said. “Unfortunately, the length of time that the officer’s gun was drawn lasted much longer than normal based on his location.”

Police said the traffic stop was resolved amicably.

“In the end, the officer had a conversation with the passenger of the vehicle explaining his actions and why the gun was pointed at him,” police said. “The passenger indicated he understood why it happened and actually apologized to the officer. Both the driver and the passenger were issued citations and were allowed to leave.”

However, the video was uploaded to Facebook last Saturday with a caption that suggested there may not have been as much understanding as police thought. (Note: The video contains profanity.)

“CAMPBELL COP IS A B—-!!!!!!!!!!” wrote a Facebook user named “Feo Mas” who identified himself as the passenger in the video. “(He) pulled out a gun cuz I reached for paperwork he asked for.”

British model kidnapped for auction, Italian police say

A British model may have been “kidnapped to order” by an crime gang for Middle Eastern buyers, the woman’s lawyer claimed today.

Chloe Ayling, 20, was allegedly abducted in Milan and detained for six days while her captor tried to auction her online.

ayling.jpg

Italian police suspect she was drugged and transported in a bag to Borgial, an isolated village near Turin, before being released on July 17.

Ms Ayling arrived back at her home in Coulsdon, south London, yesterday and said she had been through a “terrifying experience.”

She said: “I feared for my life, second by second, minute by minute, hour by hour.”

Today Ms Ayling’s lawyer, Daria Pesce, told the Standard that the Black Death gang suspected of masterminding the kidnapping may have targeted her client because she was British.

Ms Pesce said: “The organisation has been kidnapping girls for Arabian buyers for years, Italian girls, girls of all nationalities. They may have wanted a British girl so that is why they kidnapped Chloe.”

Lukasz Herba, 30, a Polish national, who lives in Britain, has been arrested on suspicion of kidnap and extortion.

britishmodelitaly.jpg

The UK’s National Crime Agency (NCA) is assisting the Italian investigation and West Midlands Police officers raided an address linked to Herba in the Oldsbury area, seizing computer equipment.

Ms Ayling was allegedly abducted on July 11 by two men as she attended an arranged photo shoot.

arrestbritishmodel.jpg

It is claimed the men tried to sell Ms Ayling online on the Dark Web for more than $300,000 (£230,000) posting pictures of her and telling her she would be “fed to the tigers” after her buyers became bored of her.

However Ms Ayling says the gang members changed their minds when they found out she has a two-year-old son.

Milan police officer Lorenzo Bucossi said: “Certainly the author of this very serious crime is a dangerous person ... He was a killer and was working for an organisation on the deep web that is offering mercenary services such as bombing attacks, kidnapping and the selling of girls.”

Considering all three right now. Nothing else is working. Currently a senior in college but can't finish because shit is too expensive in Atlanta and I'm 28k in loans. Current GPA is 3.7. current major is Management Information Systems. Job experience heavy in data entry, admin and operations support, as well as business development. Does anyone has advice that would be the best choice? I would like to make a decision by August.

Martin Shkreli Is Found Guilty of Fraud

Martin Shkreli, 34, has confidently courted controversy in recent years, bulldozing his way into Wall Street and the drug industry, raising the price of a lifesaving drug by 5,000 percent overnight, boasting that he would outwit prosecutors in his federal fraud case, and live-streaming and tweeting throughout his five-week trial.

But on Friday, after five days of deliberations, jurors convicted him on three counts of fraud in federal court, and he now faces up to 20 years in prison on each of the first two counts, and up to five years on the final count.

Mr. Shkreli looked shaken as the judge read the verdict. But not long after, he appeared outside of court and returned to form, saying that he was “delighted, in many ways,” with the verdict. “This was a witch hunt of epic proportions, and maybe they found one or two broomsticks,” he said.

Later in the afternoon, he was live-streaming once more, sipping beer and joking about prison life from his Manhattan apartment.

At the trial in the Federal District Court in Brooklyn, Mr. Shkreli was accused of securities and wire fraud related to two hedge funds he ran, MSMB Capital and MSMB Healthcare. Prosecutors charged he illegally used a pharmaceutical company he founded, Retrophin, to repay defrauded MSMB investors. And they said he secretly controlled a huge number of Retrophin shares.

Adolf Trump's Twitter following Bot and Paid For?

Trump Thanked A Fake Twitter Account. Her Real Identity Is Still Unknown.

On Twitter, President Donald Trump is known for shining a spotlight on obscure accounts with a deep devotion to him, reposting their content on his own page and vaulting enthusiastic supporters onto the world’s largest cyber stage.

On Saturday, the supposed real-life identity behind one such account —@ ProTrump45, which operates a pro-Trump merchandise website by the same name — unraveled in spectacular fashion. @ ProTrump45 has been suspended from Twitter, as have a slew of accounts associated with it.

But important questions remain unanswered: Who created all those sham accounts hawking Trump gear? And how did they end up on the President’s radar?

President Trump thanked @ ProTrump45 — who also used the name “Nicole Mincey” — for her support on Saturday afternoon.

Soon after, various Twitter accounts began to piece together that the ProTrump account wasn’t what it claimed.

Mincey’s profile photo was actually an image of a model advertising a “Your Image Here” t-shirt mockup company, Twitter user @ Rschooley noticed. That turned out to be true for lots of accounts, many of which had posted on the ProTrump45.com blog, and who spoke to “each other” on Twitter.

The mockup company, Placeit, accused the accounts of identity theft when the news broke, and said it would be in touch with law enforcement. It also posted a list of fraud accounts using its software.

Much of ProTrump45’s initial legitimacy reads like a tutorial in digital smoke and mirrors.

On March 20, YouTube user Pro Trump45 posted the video “GOP Shirts Available,” which shows an unnamed model wearing a “GOP” t-shirt — a “placeit” watermark covers the video. A link to ProTrump45’s store appears in the video’s description.

On May 14, the popular conservative website World Net Daily published “Black, Liberal Woman Dumps Obama To Run Trump Store,” which featured an interview with someone claiming to be Mincey.

“I saw a financial opportunity and took it. That’s the perks of capitalism,” she told the website, explaining why she turned her popular Twitter account into an online store.

The interview quickly spread across the web. A portrait of “Nicole,” with a red “Make America Great Again” cap covering most of her face, even ended up on the “HottiesForTrump” subreddit (NSFW).

The author of the WorldNetDaily interview, Bob Unruh, did not respond to TPM’s request for comment.

On June 5, Mashable pointed out, the Daily Caller published an article under the byline “ProTrump45,” with the headline: “ProTrump45: Black Pro-Trump Conservative Begins Pro-Trump Empire.” The article was a mix of supposed biographical matter about the person claiming to be Nicole Mincey and arguments for black voters to support President Trump.

“ProTrump45 and Nicole are beautiful representations of black Republicans and overall minority conservatives,” ProTrump45 wrote.

The Daily Caller’s Jack Kocsis, who run’s the website’s “Daily Dealer” section and is named under the article, did not respond to TPM’s requests for comment.

A few weeks later, an identical post showed up on BuzzFeed’s “Community” section — where nearly anyone can post nearly anything — under the byline “vccdfrty,” that account’s only posting.

On June 30, YouTube user Pro Trump45 posted another video, this time of what appears to be a spokesperson-for-hire reading off stats about the merchandise store. The video is produced to appear like a breaking news report, glossy newsroom and all.

On August 5, when Trump retweeted @ ProTrump45, heavy.com — known for its lightening-fast profiles of suddenly famous people — slapped together a quick list of facts about Mincey, or at least, the persona that Trump highlighted.

As Mincey’s professed identity began to dissolve in the face of scrutiny, Heavy’s profile of her changed with the breaking news.

Now, the website reports that there is a real Nicole Mincey — a college student who claims her identity was stolen and used without her permission. She said she would be filing a police report alleging identity theft. A page on ProTrump45.com that included the real Mincey’s contact information has been deleted, Heavy reported.

In a separate post, Heavy published the only recorded audio available online of the person claiming to be Mincey. In a May 25 interview with an radio show called Trending Today USA, she said: “I used to be a liberal, and I used to be a Democrat, and I used to be an Obama supporter, but things have changed. I realized the facts.” She said she started her store in January. “Everything is pro-Trump, pro-Republican, and it’s all made in America,” she added.

The person claiming to be Mincey also gave an interview on WVOX in June, Heavy noted. A representative at WVOX’s office said the shows aired on the station are independently produced. He said the time slot described in a web listing for the interview could have belonged to Peter Moses.

Moses told Heavy “I have no interest in this story” and said he couldn’t recall if he had interviewed Mincey. Moses did not respond to an email TPM sent to an address listed on his Twitter account.

And on July 4, DigitalJournal.com published a press release advertising ProTrump45, with a physical address Heavy noted belonged to the college student whose identity she claims was stolen. TPM’s calls to the phone number listed in the press release have gone unanswered.

The website Whois, which documents public domain website ownership information, records ProTrump45.com’s registrant organization as Perfect Privacy, LLC, which advertises itself as a go-between website registrar to keep website owners’ personal information in the dark. Whois records that the ProTrump45.com went public in January.

@ ProTrump45 and its associated accounts would be far from the first case of political messaging-associated identity theft. In October, for example, a pro-Trump campaign mailer meant to show the diversity of his supporters showed a Sikh man, Gurinder Singh Khalsa, below the label “Muslims.” In fact, not only was Singh Khalsa not a Muslim, nor a Trump supporter — he leads a political action committee called “Sikhs PAC” meant to educate the public about the religion. In December, Racked profiled caucasian models whose images had been used without their permission to advocate white supremacy.

And Trump’s habit of re-posting Twitter accounts with tiny followings, and sometimes no tweets except for those to which he responded, has raised plenty of suspicion. Think of it as the 21st century version of “John Barron,” the persona Trump used to call tabloid reporters and pretend to be his own agent.

The General Business Thread

Alright yall this is a spinoff from the Tax Implications thread that was started by @JonnyRoccIT‌ . I made this thread to help out anybody who has general questions about getting started or going forward, legal matters in business, financing/banks/credit, how to find information, building websites, structure, taxation, business plans/proposals, investing, motivation - anything that has to do with running a business please ask the question here and me or @pralims will answer you promptly.

Anything that has to do with even supplying apps or anything for that matter that can help someone, anybody, somewhere do something easier or better will be greatly appreciated.

To kick things off I have put the topics in spoilers to make the O/P organized and easier to browse for mobile users.

Business Entity/Legal Structures

Sole Proprietorship

The simplest structure is the sole proprietorship, which usually involves just one individual who owns and operates the enterprise. If you intend to work alone, this structure may be the way to go. The tax aspects of a sole proprietorship are appealing because the expenses and your income from the business are included on your personal income tax return, Form 1040. Your profits and losses are recorded on a form called Schedule C, which is filed with your 1040. The "bottom-line amount" from Schedule C is then transferred to your personal tax return. This is especially attractive because business losses you suffer may offset the income you have earned from your other sources.

As a sole proprietor, you must also file a Schedule SE with Form 1040. You use Schedule SE to calculate how much self-employment tax you owe. In addition to paying annual self-employment taxes, you must make estimated tax payments if you expect to owe at least $1,000 in federal taxes for the year after deducting your withholding and credits, and your withholding will be less than the smaller of:

1) 90 percent of the tax to be shown on your current year tax return or

2) 100 percent of your previous year's tax liability.

The federal government permits you to pay estimated taxes in four equal amounts throughout the year on the 15th of April, June, September and January. With a sole proprietorship, your business earnings are taxed only once, unlike other business structures. Another big plus is that you will have complete control over your business--you make all the decisions. There are a few disadvantages to consider, however. Selecting the sole proprietorship business structure means you are personally responsible for your company's liabilities. As a result, you are placing your assets at risk, and they could be seized to satisfy a business debt or a legal claim filed against you.Raising money for a sole proprietorship can also be difficult. Banks and other financing sources may be reluctant to make business loans to sole proprietorships. In most cases, you will have to depend on your financing sources, such as savings,
home equity or family loans.

Partnership

If your business will be owned and operated by several individuals, you'll want to take a look at structuring your business as a partnership. Partnerships come in two varieties: general partnerships and limited partnerships. In a general partnership, the partners manage the company and assume responsibility for the partnership's debts and other obligations. A limited partnership has both general and limited partners. The general partners own and operate the business and assume liability for the partnership, while the limited partners serve as investors only; they have no control over the company and are not subject to the same liabilities as the general partners.

Unless you expect to have many passive investors, limited partnerships are generally not the best choice for a new business because of all the required filings and administrative complexities. If you have two or more partners who want to be actively involved, a general partnership would be much easier to form.

One of the major advantages of a partnership is the tax treatment it enjoys. A partnership does not pay tax on its income but "passes through" any profits or losses to the individual partners. At tax time, the partnership must file a tax return (Form 1065) that reports its income and loss to the IRS. In addition, each partner reports his or her share of income and loss on Schedule K-1 of Form 1065.

Personal liability is a major concern if you use a general partnership to structure your business. Like sole proprietors, general partners are personally liable for the partnership's obligations and debts. Each general partner can act on behalf of the partnership, take out loans and make decisions that will affect and be binding on all the partners (if the partnership agreement permits). Keep in mind that partnerships are also more expensive to establish than sole proprietorships because they require more legal and accounting services.

The other portion is in the next post

As for what state is best to incorporate in, it really depends on what type of business you're trying to build. Please PM me and I may be able to assist you.

U.S. Army refuses to take Confederate general names off Fort Hamilton streets…

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/u-s-army-won-confederate-names-fort-hamilton-streets-article-1.3391292
The U.S. Army has shot down demands from New York Congress members to take the names of Confederate generals off of streets in New York City’s only active military post.

The Army defended two streets at Fort Hamilton in Brooklyn — General Lee Avenue and Stonewall Jackson Drive — as a necessity to honor fighters who were “an inextricable part of our military history.”

“After over a century, any effort to rename memorializations on Fort Hamilton would be controversial and divisive,” Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff Diane Randon wrote in the rejection letter, which Democratic Rep. Yvette Clarke received over the weekend.

“This is contrary to the Nation’s original intent in naming these streets, which was the spirit of reconciliation.”

Lee and Jackson both served at Fort Hamilton in the 1840s, about two decades before they led the Confederate Army in the Civil War.

Clarke, who was one of four lawmakers asking the Army for the changes, blasted the decision as “nonsense.”

“These monuments are deeply offensive to the hundreds of thousands of Brooklyn residents and members of the armed forces stationed at Fort Hamilton whose ancestors Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson fought to hold in slavery,” she said in a statement.

"For too many years, the United States has refused to reckon with that history."

She said that her "fight isn't over yet," and that she would continue pushing the Army to rename the roads.

The Army did not return requests for comment.

Clarke in June joined Democratic New York Reps. Jerrold Nadler, Nydia Velazquez and Hakeem Jeffries in a letter to the Army asking for Lee and Jackson’s names to disappear from the military post near Bay Ridge.

This came weeks after New Orleans took down its statues of Lee and other Confederate fighters, a move that sparked national debate and raised questions about whether other major cities would follow suit.

But the New Orleans decision was made by the city government, while the Army has final say over memorials at its posts.

The Army has not made any concerted effort to scrub Confederate names from its locations. Ten military bases, including Fort Bragg in North Carolina and Fort Hood in Texas, are named after Confederate officers. All 10 bases are in former Confederate states.

A new wave of Confederate opposition swept through the country after white supremacist Dylann Roof gunned down nine parishioners at a Charleston, S.C. black church in June 2015. Confederate symbols and names disappeared from locations nationwide, and South Carolina took down the Confederate flag hanging outside its capitol.

Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams and the Rev. Al Sharpton have previously called for the street names to vanish from Fort Hamilton. Adams suggested in 2015 that a "panel of historians and local leaders" should come up with more appropriate names for the two roads.

The Brooklyn beep tweeted Monday he would "continue to urge" the Army to change its mind.

Philippine Mayor Accused of Drug Ties by Duterte Dies in Police Raid

MANILA — A mayor who had been accused by President Rodrigo Duterte of involvement in drug trafficking was killed along with his wife and 10 other people in coordinated police raids early Sunday, the authorities said.

Reynaldo Parojinog, the mayor of Ozamiz in the southern Philippines, died in a firefight at his home after his security personnel shot at drug enforcement officers, who had come to arrest him and three members of his family, according to the Philippine National Police.

His wife, Susan Parojinog, and five other people were also killed, and a second raid at another house owned by the family left five more people dead, the police said. Mr. Parojinog’s daughter, Nova Princess Parojinog-Echavez, the deputy mayor of Ozamiz, was among “scores” of people arrested, said Ernesto Abella, a spokesman for Mr. Duterte.

The police said they confiscated high-powered rifles, bundles of cash and an unspecified amount of methamphetamines at Mr. Parojinog’s home. A police official, Chief Superintendent Timoteo Pacleb, said that one officer had been wounded in the firefight but that his life was not in danger.

Mr. Parojinog and his daughter were among more than 150 Philippine officials, including mayors, judges and police officers, who Mr. Duterte accused of being involved with illegal narcotics in a televised speech last August. The Parojinogs denied the accusation.

Mr. Parojinog is at least the third mayor on that list to die in an encounter with the police. In October, Samsudin Dimaukom, mayor of the small town of Datu Saudi-Ampatuan in the southern Philippines, was gunned down at a checkpoint by police officers, who said his guards had fired at them. In November, another mayor, Rolando Espinosa Sr., was shot and killed by police officers in his jail cell.

The raids on Sunday came just days after Mr. Duterte, in his annual speech to Congress, pledged to continue his bloody crackdown on drugs, which has left thousands of people dead at the hands of police officers or vigilantes since he took office last summer.

“I have resolved that no matter how long it takes, the fight against illegal drugs will continue because it is the root cause of suffering,” Mr. Duterte said, asking the United Nations, the European Union and other critics to educate people about drugs rather than condemn him. He said that those involved in drug trafficking would face “either jail or hell.”

Carlos H. Conde, a Philippines-based researcher for Human Rights Watch, said after Mr. Duterte’s speech that it was a sign that the deaths would continue. “This can only mean more extrajudicial killings and the perpetuation of impunity and absence of accountability,” Mr. Conde said.
